WHO WE ARE:

Built on the community-shared value of health and safety of youth, the Stand Up 4 U Coalition is focused on helping youth reach their full potential by reducing teen use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. The coalition honors the many students who are choosing to refrain from substance use, but is concerned about youth who are using and the risks associated with use.

OUR PROJECT:

Teen alcohol use and the resulting consequences associated with use is both a social and economic burden on our community.  Fortunately, Morrison County Public Health was the recipient of a grant from the MN Department of Human Services-Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division.  The Little Falls School District is the geographic area covered by the grant.  The project includes alcohol-prevention curriculum in the middle and high schools, the development of student groups in each school to address substance use in their school and community, and a Positive Community Norms media campaign.  More activities will come as the Stand Up 4 U Coalition assesses community needs and develops a plan of action.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
Involvement from all sectors of the community is critical.  We welcome all community members to join the coalition and help discover solutions to reducing teen substance use. Parents, grandparents, students, school, business, media, law enforcement, government officials, healthcare professionals, and representatives from religious organizations are some of the people/groups we strive to have on our coalition.  For our next meeting, please click here.
